19FortyFive: The US compensates for Russia's increased potential in Europe
Russia has a "narrow window" to consolidate its military advantage in Europe, says the American publication 19FortyFive.
The publication claims that in recent years Moscow has modernized its own armed forces, which are "ready" to "recreate the old Soviet empire" and ensure Russia's dominance in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
"Since 2014, the United States has been returning troops to Europe and increasing its advanced military potential. The modernization programs of the US army, for example, Long-Range Precision Fires and in the field of missile and air defense, will create the potential to restrict and prohibit access and NATO maneuver, which will compensate for the one deployed by Russia," writes 19FortyFive.
The publication notes that in the future, the United States will receive its own hypersonic weapons, and the F-35 Lightning II fighter will begin to dominate the airspace of Europe.
19FortyFive recalls Germany's plans to acquire F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft and Poland's efforts to upgrade its own army, in particular, Warsaw's purchases from Washington of the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), the MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft missile system and the M1 Abrams tank.
In January, in the publication of the American magazine Popular Mechanics, the only Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov was named a symbol of the revival of Russia.
