State tests of the light floating tank "Octopus-SDM1" are coming to an end. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the industrial director of the Rostec armament complex, Bekhan Ozdoev.

He noted that the "Octopus-SDM1" combines the qualities of a light tank and an amphibious assault vehicle (BMD). The tank has a record 125-millimeter cannon for its class and can fire not only on land, but also on water. The car makes marches up to 500 kilometers without refueling. Ozdoev also clarified that the Octopus-SDM1 is primarily intended for the Airborne Troops of Russia, but "potential customers abroad are looking with envy."
In September, a floating self-propelled anti-tank gun "Octopus-SDM1" was dropped from a tower in Russia. The car was dropped as part of a strength test. The anti-tank gun withstood the tests.
