General Salyukov said that the Uran-9 and Kungas robots had passed state tests
The state tests of the Uran-9 and Kungas combat robots have been completed. Robotic complexes were used during the joint strategic exercises (SSU) of Russia and Belarus "West-2021". The commander-in-chief of the Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov, said this in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
"In the interests of the Ground Forces, the combat robotic complexes Uran-9 and Kungas have been developed. They have passed state tests and this year were used during the SSU "West-2021". I would like to note that the operators of robotic complexes gave a positive assessment of their capabilities when managing them from remote control points," Salyukov said.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that serial robotic complexes were used on a large scale for the first time at the Zapad-2021 exercises.
In October, General Salyukov announced the work on the adoption of the robotic complexes "Uran-9" and "Nerekhta" into service. Pilot operation of robots in the Ground Forces is planned for 2022.
In September, the American edition of Stars and Stripes was concerned about the testing of Russian combat robots. The publication emphasized the capabilities of the robotic complexes "Uran-9" and "Nerekhta".
