TSAMTO, December 23. In 2021, the formations and associations of the Air Defense Forces received more than 800 units of modern models of VIVT, including T-80BVM tanks, infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3. The composition of the TOPF included the Magadan DPL, Bastion coastal missile systems.
"The supply of weapons and military equipment to the troops of the military district allowed updating and replacing more than half of the already outdated models, which allowed this year to increase the share of modern equipment samples to 56%," said Colonel-General Alexander Chaiko, Commander of the Air Defense Forces.
He noted that the re-equipment of the district's troops (forces) will continue next year. Thus, the troops will receive an upgraded brigade set of the Iskander operational and tactical missile system (OTRK), Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), Mi-28NM attack helicopters and the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighters.
According to Colonel-General Alexander Zhuravlev, commander of the ZVO troops, in 2021 the district received about 1.4 thousand new and modernized samples of military and special equipment.
"The troops were replenished with more than 80 T-90M, T-80BV, T-72B3M tanks, Msta-CM2 artillery units, BTR-82AM, multi-purpose vehicles and the latest communication complexes. Thus, the share of modern weapons in the district's troops exceeded 72%," he said.
The commander of the Southern Military District, Army General Alexander Dvornik, said that the combat potential of the district's troops, which had been quite impressive before, had noticeably increased due to the formation of new formations and military units.
According to A.Dvornik, at the moment the share of the latest samples of VIVT in the troops has reached 71%: "Only in 2021, more than 1.5 thousand units of the newest samples of VIVT were received in the formations and military units of the Southern Military District," A.Dvornik said.
A.Dvornik named Ka-52 helicopters with the latest sighting equipment, Su-25SM3 aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems S-350 "Vityaz" and S-300PM2 among the samples of VIVT that entered service with the district's troops this year. The troops also received new ships, various armored vehicles, communications and electronic warfare, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
