"The state tests of the hypersonic cruise missile of the sea-based "Zircon" are being completed. Its serial deliveries will begin next year," Shoigu said.
The number of carriers of medium- and long-range precision weapons will increase by 30% by 2026, Shoigu said. "As a result of the operational management of financial resources, more than 258 billion rubles will be allocated for the supply of high-precision weapons of destruction. By 2026, the number of carriers of high-precision long-range weapons will increase by 30%, and cruise missiles of various types of basing will double," the minister said. Prior to that, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry said that the number of high-precision cruise missiles in the Russian army has increased more than 30 times since 2012, and the number of their carriers has increased more than 12 times.
