The Strategic Missile Forces will receive 21 launchers with ICBMs "Yars", "Avangard" and "Sarmat"

In 2022, 21 launchers with intercontinental ballistic missiles "Yars", "Avangard" and "Sarmat" will be on combat duty of the Strategic Missile Forces.

This was announced by Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu at an expanded meeting of the board of the military department with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, this task is a priority in 2022. Also, the priorities of the military department are to supply two Tu-160M strategic missile carriers to the aviation strategic nuclear forces. In addition, it is planned to accept the nuclear submarine of the Borei-A project Generalissimo Suvorov into the fleet. The aerospace forces are to receive five divisional sets of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system.
