China has increased production of fifth-generation Chengdu J-20 fighters
Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Group has announced an increase in the pace of production of fifth-generation aircraft. In the fourth quarter of 2021, the demand for Chengdu J-20 fighters from the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) increased. This is reported by Military Watch.
The publication notes that the fighter has entered the phase of mass production. The Chinese manufacturer announced record deliveries of aircraft to the Chinese military. One of the reasons for the increase in production rates was the development of the Chinese WS-10B engine.
The new power unit was received by the J-20A and J-20B fighters. Chinese engines replaced the Russian power units that were used on the first modifications of the aircraft.
In November, China installed the first monument to the fifth-generation fighter. The prototype of the J-20 aircraft was placed on the territory of the Chengdu Aerospace Corporation training Center. A prototype was turned into a monument, which was used in tests.
In October, a new Chinese fighter of an unknown model was spotted on satellite images. The aircraft is made according to a tailless scheme, and its dimensions are comparable to Chinese fifth-generation aircraft.
