TSAMTO, November 30. The units of the engineering troops of the Central Military District for the first time received the robotic complexes of mine clearance "Uran-6", said the head of the Department of engineering troops of the district, Major General Dmitry Koruts.
"This year, engineering and sapper units of formations and military units of the engineering troops of the Central Military District, stationed in Bashkiria, Udmurtia and the Tyumen region, for the first time received four robotic complexes of mine clearance "Uran-6". The first demonstration of the combat capabilities of the new equipment will take place in mid-December during the operational mobilization gathering of the command staff of the Central Military District, which will be held in the Orenburg region," D. Koruts said.
He noted that "Uran-6" is designed for demining areas in urban areas, mountainous and small-wooded areas. "The complex can also be used to make passages in minefields and is capable of detecting and neutralizing explosive objects with a capacity of up to 4 kg in TNT equivalent," D. Koruts said.
For reference:
The robotic complex "Uran-6" is a tracked self-propelled radio-controlled minesweeper. Depending on the tasks, up to 5 different trawls can be installed on it, including with bulldozer equipment. The operator can control the complex at a distance of up to 1000 m (the device has 4 video cameras that provide a circular view), the press service of the Central Military District reports.
