This is how the salvo rocket launch with four Bulava missiles was marked in December 2020
Moscow. November 21. INTERFAX - Submariners serving on the strategic nuclear cruiser "Vladimir Monomakh" from the Pacific Fleet (TOF) have been awarded a new badge of military valor - the ship's cup, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on Sunday.
"The crew was awarded for services to the Fatherland, high training and skillful use of the combat capabilities of the Borey project cruiser, shown during the execution of four missile launches from an underwater position," the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
As reported, in December 2020, the missile submarine of the Pacific Fleet "Vladimir Monomakh" performed a salvo launch with four intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) "Bulava".
Vladimir Monomakh is a Russian nuclear-powered strategic missile cruiser of Project 955 Borey. Submarines of this type belong to the fourth generation of submarines. The main armament is 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles R-30 "Bulava". At the moment, the Russian Navy has three nuclear submarines of this project - "Yuri Dolgoruky", "Alexander Nevsky" and "Vladimir Monomakh".
The R30 3M30 Bulava ICBM (RSM-56 - for use in international treaties, SS-NX-30 - according to the NATO classification) is a Russian three-stage solid-fuel missile designed to arm promising nuclear submarine strategic missile carriers of the Borey project. The missile is capable of carrying several hypersonic nuclear individual guidance units. Bulava will form the basis of a promising grouping of Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces until 2040-2045.
The military (ship) bowl is made of silver metal with a golden inner surface, the emblem of the military unit, information about significant events of the combat path and merits, as well as the date of delivery are applied to it, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
According to him, the crew of the Vladimir Monomakh is "the first military team in Kamchatka to be awarded such an award."
