In 2022, the preliminary design of the Russian orbital station will begin. Alexander Bloshenko, Executive Director of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Advanced Programs and Science, called the start date of the work. This is reported by Interfax .
"The draft project should start next year. To do this, the government should include such work in the list of state defense order activities. We have submitted a corresponding proposal," Bloshenko said.
A representative of Roscosmos said that work on the preliminary design could begin next year. In his opinion, this stage can be completed in a year and a half.
Earlier, the head of the state corporation "Roscosmos" Dmitry Rogozin called The Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) of the new ISS. According to him, Russia is also ready to take part in international projects for the creation of orbital stations.
In September, it became known about the financing of the ROSS project. Roscosmos has allocated money for the creation of an orbital station. 1.7 billion rubles were allocated for the project of a manned flight to the Moon and work on the ROSS project.
In April, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov announced that Russia could withdraw from the International Space Station (ISS) project by 2025.
