According to the agency interlocutor, up to 10 MiG-29K/KUB 100 OKIAP aircraft were used during training at the NITKA complex

MOSCOW, November 18. /tass/. The hundredth separate naval fighter aviation regiment (OKIAP) of the naval aviation of the Northern Fleet (SF) has completed training on an aircraft carrier analogue - the ground test training complex (aviation) NITKA in Saki and on Thursday began flying to a permanent-based airfield. This was reported to TASS by a source.

"Training flights from the NITKA complex have been completed. On Thursday, the regiment began flying to a permanent-based airfield with several intermediate landings," he said.

According to the agency interlocutor, up to 10 MiG-29K/KUB 100 OKIAP aircraft were used during training at the NITKA complex.

TASS has no official confirmation of this information.

Earlier it was reported that in early October, MiG-29K / KUB 100 OKIAP aircraft flew to the NITKA complex in Saki with several intermediate landings. Prior to that, the SF press service reported that the 279th OKIAP SF, which is armed with Su-33 and Su-25UTG aircraft, completed training at the NITKA complex in Saki.

According to the press service, for more than a month, seven pilots, including five young pilots of carrier-based aviation, were able to prepare for landing on the deck of the aircraft carrier. All of them took off from the ship's springboard on a Su-33 fighter jet and independently landed on a ground simulator with an aircraft finisher cable hook.

About the NITKA and aircraft carrier complexes

Before flying from an aircraft carrier, pilots of carrier-based aviation must obtain access to them according to existing regulations. For their preparation, it was supposed to use two NITKA complexes in Saki and in Yeysk. It is known about the first one that it needed modernization and now the corresponding contract is being executed, about the second one - that its commissioning has been repeatedly postponed.

The NITKA complexes are designed for testing the take-off and landing of naval aircraft. The complex in Saki is an airfield with a steel airfield in the form of a ship's deck, equipped with a springboard and aerial finishers. The dimensions of the airfield are equivalent to the flight deck of the heavy aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov.
