The head of Rostec Corporation, Sergey Chemezov, announced the formation of the technical appearance of the promising Russian fifth-generation fighter Checkmate. The car, among other things, will receive a radar station with an active phased array antenna.
Russia is preparing to present the Su-75 fighter jet abroad for the first time: the novelty will be shown at the Dubai Airshow international exhibition. On the eve of this event, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, spoke about some of the features of Checkmate and the status of the program.
"Active work on the project is underway. The technical appearance of the car as a whole has been formed, cooperation is being built," TASS quotes him as saying.
The vehicle will be equipped with advanced on-board electronics, including a radar with an active phased array antenna (AFAR) and a highly effective electronic warfare complex. Thanks to the open architecture, the aircraft can be adapted to the requirements of a particular customer.
As the General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation Yuri Slyusar noted, the machine can exist in optional manned and unmanned versions. This will allow "implementing new tactical techniques."

According to Mikhail Strelts, chief designer of Checkmate, the joint use of Su-75, Su-57 and drones will ensure high combat effectiveness at minimal cost. They want to achieve this through a high degree of unification of projects.
Russia hopes that the plane will be of interest to foreign customers. To date, the country has already held a number of negotiations with potential buyers.

Checkmate was officially shown for the first time this year at the MAKS Air Show. The aircraft has many weapon suspension points on which 7400 kilograms of combat load can be placed. It is capable of using a wide arsenal of weapons, including medium- and short-range air—to-air missiles, precision bombs and air-to-surface missiles.
The maximum speed of the car is about 2200 kilometers per hour. The flight range without outboard fuel tanks is 2,800 kilometers.
Novelties in the field of the fifth generation are not only in Russia: recently, the aircraft manufacturers of the People's Republic of China have again forced themselves to talk about themselves. In particular, the Chinese for the first time lifted into the air a prototype of the J-35 carrier-based fighter.
