In the Russian tank support combat vehicles (BMPT), the Terminator was seen as a threat. The Ukrainian information and consulting agency Defense Express commented on reports about the introduction of a company of BMPT into the staff of one of the regiments of the 90th tank Division.
According to the commander of the Central Military District (CVO), Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, a company of "Terminators" will be introduced into one of the tank regiments of the 90th Tank Division before the first of December.
The author of the material suggested that each tank regiment will include a company of BMPT, so the total order for new vehicles may amount to 585 units. The publication emphasizes that while the release of BMPT is limited. This is due to the high workload of Russian tank factories that are upgrading T-72B, T-80BV and T-90A tanks.
"Nevertheless, the introduction of BMPT companies into tank and especially motorized rifle regiments of the Russian ground forces is an undoubted threat to Ukraine (and other countries) and requires an adequate response," Defense Express summarizes.
In March, the American magazine The National Interest reported that Russian "Terminators" are being trained for war. The publication noted that as part of the exercises at the training ground near Chelyabinsk, the military is practicing the interaction of BMPT and tanks.
