Since the beginning of the year, over 300 units of military and special equipment have been delivered to the Engineering Troops as part of the state defense order. It was received by all military districts and the Northern Fleet. This was reported in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The list of new engineering equipment is extensive. It also has multifunctional robotic complexes "Uran-6" and "Uran-14". It is known that, for example, the Uran-6 sapper robot was used by our military in the demining of ancient Palmyra, the cities of Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, and other settlements in Syria. It weighs about six tons, is equipped with four video cameras and is quite easy to operate. The operator manages the armored complex from a distance that guarantees safety even when the ammunition is detonated. "Uranus" can also remotely perform such an operation using a 30-mm automatic cannon. Which guarantees the complex a sufficiently long operational life. And the sapper robot is equipped with various trawls and can withstand a close explosion of up to 60 kilograms of TNT.
But the main thing is that the designers installed equipment on it that allows not only to find and destroy all existing types of ammunition, but also to identify them beforehand. That is, "Uran-6" will distinguish an aerial bomb from both an artillery shell and an anti-tank mine. The military claims that there has never been anything like this in the army before, and only one such machine replaces two dozen full-time sappers.
In addition to the "Urans", military engineers received this year ISDM remote mining systems, a modernized PP-2005M pontoon fleet with BMK-MT and BMK-MO towboats, special vehicles of mine clearance groups (SAGR), heavy mechanized bridges TMM-3M2, BOOM-2 drilling and impact machines, integrated water purification and desalination stations SKO-10 and SKO-10/5, MKKV-1000 water purification and conservation kits.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that over 600 units of modern equipment will be delivered to formations and military units of engineering troops by the end of the year as part of the state defense order.
