At the Russian-Serbian exercises "Slavic Shield-2021", an aerial target — a helicopter simulator (VM-V) was used. Unmanned helicopters developed by Technodinamika Holding of Rostec State Corporation simulated an air raid by a simulated enemy. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the holding.
Drones were used as targets for calculations of anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes "Pantsir-S". The press service stressed that unmanned helicopters to simulate an air raid were used for the first time in the exercises "Slavic Shield-2021". The maneuvers took place in mid-October at the Batajnica Air Base in Serbia.
Igor Nasenkov, CEO of Technodinamika Holding, noted that the use of VM-V in the exercises allowed us to work out practical actions for detecting and hitting air targets. The maneuvers also made it possible to check the characteristics of the drone in mountainous terrain.
VM-V is part of a complex developed by specialists of the Dynamics Center (part of the Technodinamika holding of Rostec State Corporation). The drone can stay in the air for up to two hours, and the maximum flight altitude is 2.5 kilometers. Communication with an unmanned helicopter can be maintained at a range of up to 100 kilometers.
Earlier, sources in the Russian Defense Ministry told Izvestia about the use of Orion and Outpost-R drones at the Zapad-2021 exercises. Unmanned vehicles aimed high-precision ammunition "Gran" and "Krasnopol" at the target.
