In the 2021 academic year, the Russian military conducted more than 200 command and staff exercises on the territory of the Western Military District. This was announced on Wednesday, November 3, by the press service of the ZVO.
In addition, in addition, the servicemen carried out 40 tactical military exercises on the ground with firing.
During the military events, the Russian military worked out such moments as coherence, planning and preparation of various types of combat in a short time, control of the actions of troops in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. Among other things, the issues of combating small-sized reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicles were worked out.
Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded: the management bodies of formations and military units have successfully mastered the means of a unified tactical management system, the capabilities of which are actively used by the military in practice.
Military training activities touched upon the issues of combating the consequences of the use of weapons of mass destruction by a potential enemy and the decontamination of military equipment.
The main test for the servicemen was the large-scale joint strategic exercise "West-2021", which was conducted jointly with colleagues from Belarus at nine Russian and five Belarusian training grounds.
In total, about 200 thousand military personnel, 80 aircraft and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, including over 290 tanks, as well as up to 15 ships of the Baltic Fleet were involved in the military exercises.
On the eve of November 2, the Russian and Syrian military carried out a military mission on board the Russian Su-24. During the training activities, the crew had to bomb the positions of potential militants.
