The State Commission on Radio Frequencies (GCRF) can allocate frequencies of 5850-6425 MHz for communication of unmanned aircraft with their operators. This is reported by "Prime" with reference to iz.ru .
The explanatory note to the project indicates that the allocation of "unmanned" frequencies to an indefinite circle of people is necessary due to the active expansion of the drone market.
According to Vadim Poskakukhin, the head of Spectrum Management, "unmanned" frequencies are required both to control drones and to receive data, photos and videos from them. At the moment, these frequencies are used by the base stations of wireless Internet access systems, but free channels in the desired range exist in many parts of the country.
The expert also noted that today frequencies from other technologies are being "reused" to control drones. So, civilian drones are mainly controlled and receive video data from them at 2.4 GHz frequencies on which WiFi operates. As a result, interference with the work of drones is created, especially if a lot of them accumulate in one place.
