An exercise was held at the Opuk training ground in the Crimea, where units of the Black Sea Fleet worked out the protection of the coast from enemy landing.
If we do not take into account the geography of these maneuvers, then "ours" and "not ours" were not there, in general. Everyone was their own. It's just that according to the scenario, some participants got the role of the defenders, and others - the attackers. Moreover, during the exercise, both of them changed places.
At the first stage of the maneuvers, the marines, who were delivered to the area of the training operation by the large landing ships Saratov, Novocherkassk and Caesar Kunikov, landed on the peninsula. First, they occupied a section of the coast with a fight. Then they moved deep into the positions of the conditional enemy. The crews of the cruiser "Moskva", the frigate "Admiral Grigorovich", the small rocket ship "Ingushetia", the missile ships "Naberezhnye Chelny" and R-60 provided fire support from the sea to the landing.
In turn, the coastal defense units and the tank, artillery and motorized rifle units of the combined arms army of the Southern Military District that came to their aid focused on suppressing enemy naval artillery and striking at the amphibious assault. At this time, ships were attacked from the air, and Su-34 tactical aircraft destroyed the marines.
As a result, everyone completed their tasks at this exercise. The coastal troops demonstrated their readiness to effectively conduct the anti-sabotage defense of the Crimea, to fight against naval assault groups and amphibious forces. And the marines and four dozen ships and boats of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla trained in capturing and holding a beachhead on the coast.
Our military regularly conducts such exercises in Crimea. All of them pursue a single goal - to think through every detail and work out in practice various options for protecting the peninsula from invasion from land, sea and air. Although these maneuvers take place on our land, in Russian territorial waters and the airspace of the Russian Federation, they almost always cause a negative reaction in the West. The United States and its NATO allies immediately accuse Russia of aggressive actions and escalating tensions in the Black Sea region.
It is well known who actually does this and constantly arranges provocations near the Crimea. Suffice it to recall how in June of this year the Russian military and border guards were forced to open a warning fire on the course of the British destroyer Defender. This happened after the ship violently violated the border of the Russian Federation in the area of Cape Fiolent.
