The K-77M air-to-air missile of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter can provide Russia with an advantage over NATO countries in air combat, the American magazine Military Watch reports.
The main advantage of this weapon in the publication is its range, which is more than 190 kilometers. There is also a radar with an active phased array antenna (AFAR) located in the nose of the rocket, providing it with high accuracy.
Military Watch is confident that the K-77M can become the most effective long—range air-to-air missile in the world, competing with the promising American AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile (JATM).
In April, The National Interest magazine noted that hypersonic weapons could provide the Russian Su-57 fighter with a new level of speed and lethality. The publication claimed that so far this aircraft receives only K-77M and X-74M2 air-to-air missiles.
