A special feature of the Vityaz-2 car is its deceptive appearance. The cabin of the car is similar to the cabin of the common Ural-4320, and behind it there is a side platform with a canvas awning. Behind it is an armored module that can accommodate 16 military personnel. The protected compartment corresponds to the Br4 protection class, which allows it to withstand shelling with bullets of 5.45 by 39 millimeters and 7.62 by 39 millimeters at a distance of ten meters.
The cab of the car provides the same level of protection, which is complemented by armored glass of the Br5 protection class. This allows you to withstand the impact of bullets from rifle cartridges of caliber 7.62 by 54 millimeters. The armored module and the cockpit windows are equipped with loopholes that allow you to fire from small arms.
Also, the Vityaz-2 can withstand the explosion of a mine or an improvised explosive device in a two-kilogram TNT equivalent. The hood layout of the car increases the security of the crew.
The new car was the development of the Ural-VV line, created on the instructions of the Main Command of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The car received an engine with a capacity of 285 horsepower and a 9-speed gearbox. This provides the car with a maximum speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour. The power reserve is 1000 kilometers.
