The airborne troops of the Russian Federation for the first time parachuted a battalion on the latest combat vehicles of the landing, RIA Novosti reported. It is noted that the landing was carried out during the main stage of the joint strategic exercises "West-2021" at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that the landing was carried out simultaneously on two landing sites from Il-76MD military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
In total, more than 300 servicemen of the Russian Airborne Forces, 20 Indian servicemen and more than 30 of the latest BMD-4M amphibious assault vehicles were landed as part of the operational-tactical landing.
On the air of Sputnik radio, TASS military observer, retired Colonel Viktor Litovkin noted that the BMD-4M is a powerful means of supporting the landing force in the offensive.
He added that the landing of the BMD-4M was carried out earlier, but for this the military transport plane had to land, after which the cars rolled out on the ground.
