In Russia, there will be "secret" modifications of the UAZ Patriot. The new vehicles will be released for the needs of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops. The machine will help to detect dangerous substances and mark infected areas. Special SUVs will be delivered to the troops by the end of the year, "Izvestia reports, citing sources in the defense department.
The new chemical reconnaissance vehicles (RCM) based on a civilian SUV will be delivered to separate RCHBZ brigades of each military district and to separate chemical defense regiments of combined-arms armies.
The RHM equipment will allow sampling of water, soil and air. It will also be possible to carry out express analysis of samples in the car and deliver individual materials to the laboratory for detailed research. To transmit the results of the analysis, the PCM is equipped with a secure connection.
Using the base of a mass SUV will facilitate the use of a new car for civilian needs. RCMs based on Patriot can be used to ensure the safety of mass events, as well as to eliminate the consequences of man-made disasters and natural disasters.
The new machines will complement the mobile laboratories of the KM-RXBR based on the Ford Transit minibus. These complexes will be able to be used within the city without attracting too much attention. Moreover, the car chassis will be able to pass through narrow streets where specialized equipment will not pass.
Earlier it became known about the use of equipment of the RCBZ troops to combat the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, the military used reconnaissance chemical machines RHM-4 and disinfecting complexes DKV-1.
