In the Kaliningrad region, the marines of the Baltic Fleet repelled the attack of a simulated enemy from the sea in conditions as close to combat as possible.
According to the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the Baltic Fleet, the battalion tactical exercise with live firing was held at the naval landing range Khmelevka.
About a thousand servicemen and more than 50 units of wheeled and tracked vehicles, including self-propelled artillery and mortar installations "Nona" and armored personnel carriers BTR-82A, were involved in the exercise.
The servicemen of the Marine infantry battalion practiced conducting defensive actions, and then blocked and destroyed the sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the conditional enemy.
"Enemy saboteurs" were hit from all types of small arms and armored personnel carriers and self-propelled guns "Nona". Targets for shooting on the surface of the sea were equipped at a marine training ground at distances from 300 meters to six kilometers.
