Moscow. August 29. INTERFAX-The exercises of the search and rescue support forces to assist an emergency submarine have ended in the Barents Sea, the Northern Fleet (SF) said on Sunday.
"The operation to deliver submariners from a submarine lying on the ground at a depth of 50 meters to a rescue vehicle took several hours, during which the AS-34 successfully performed work under water and was returned back to the carrier ship," the report says.
According to the scenario of the exercises, the diesel submarine lay on the ground in the bay of Ein Motovsky Bay.
The search and its detection was carried out using surface ships and vessels, with the involvement of aviation - an Il-38 aircraft and a Ka-27PS helicopter of the 45th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the SF, the press release says.
The tasks involved the rescue vessel "Georgy Titov" with the deep-sea rescue vehicle AS-34 on board, the diving vessel "VM-277", sea and raid tugs, as well as a number of ships of the Kola Flotilla of diverse forces of the SF, the fleet headquarters reports.
