The American company SpaceX has successfully launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, the first stage of the ship landed on a floating drone platform in the Atlantic Ocean. This is reported in the Twitter account of SpaceX.
"The first stage of the Falcon 9 landed on A Shortfall of Gravitas — this is the first landing on this drone platform!" the message says.
The Falcon 9 launch vehicle with the Dragon cargo ship, which will deliver 2.2 tons of cargo to the International Space Station ISS, launched from the Cape Canaveral cosmodrome in the US state of Florida at 03:14, US East Coast time.
The Dragon docking with the station is expected on August 30 at 11: 00 (18: 00 Moscow time), it is planned to be carried out in automatic mode.
This is the fourth flight for the reusable first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket, which has the code designation B1061-3. In November 2020, it was used when the Crew Dragon spacecraft was launched to the ISS with astronauts on board. Its second flight took place at the end of April 2021 with the delivery of four more astronauts to the ISS. And on June 6, B1061-3 was used to launch the commercial American telecommunications satellite SXM-8.
