The quiet sensation of the Army-2021 forum, which for some reason was not reflected in the media, is the adaptation of the 9M123 guided missile of the Chrysanthemum land complex to launches from the Mi - 28NM helicopter. Rossiyskaya Gazeta is the first to tell about this.
On the demonstration site "Russian Helicopters" in the Patriot Park, among other helicopter equipment, there is a Mi-28NM with a display of the entire range of its ammunition. Among the combat variety, a massive radio engineering system and launch containers with large, apparently, missiles on the left pylon stand out. This is the 9M123 anti-tank complex "Chrysanthemum".
The rocket has passed the entire complex of tests, which showed that its launches from a helicopter are not only possible, but also very effective.
The 9M123 rocket is supersonic, its firing range is up to 10 kilometers. A distinctive feature is the round-the-clock and all-weather application. The rocket has two control channels: guided by a laser beam and guided by a rocket in a radio beam. The radio engineering system is just designed for radar guidance. In this case, the operator determines the target, the data about which is entered into the onboard complex and when the launch conditions are met, it is launched, 9M123 hits the target accompanied by the sighting system.
According to experts, the Chrysanthemum missile system is capable of working not only on ground or surface targets, but also on air ones. So the Mi-28NM received a very powerful weapon, objectively becoming the most formidable combat helicopter in the world.
