The Indonesian shipbuilding company PT Lundin launched an inconspicuous missile trimaran "Golok". According to Naval News, this is the second ship of the X3K type after the Klevang, which burned down in 2012.
The X3K project started in the noughties. PT Lundin planned to build four missile trimarans for the Indonesian Navy using it. She was engaged in the design of the ship together with the New Zealand bureau LOMOcean Design. The basis for the rocket trimarans was the high-speed trimaran Earthrace, which in 2008 set a record among motorboats for the fastest circumnavigation of the world.
The lead ship of the project - "Klevang" - was launched in 2012. With a displacement of 219 tons, it was 63 meters long and 16 meters wide. The maximum speed of the trimaran was 35 knots, and the cruising speed was 22 knots. At a speed of 16 knots, it could travel up to two thousand nautical miles."Klevang" was built of composite materials and using low-visibility technologies. A few weeks after the launching ceremony, the trimaran destroyed a fire.
The second X3K-type trimaran called "Golok" was launched on August 21. Its length is 62.53 meters, its width is 16 meters, and its displacement is 245 tons. "Golok" can reach a speed of up to 28 knots or go with a cruising speed of 16 knots. From the armament, he received a 30-millimeter cannon and a 12.7-millimeter machine gun. The ship is designed for a crew of 25 people.
