The Turkish Bayraktar TB2 attack and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is an easy target for Russian anti-aircraft missile systems [...], Pavel Sozinov, general designer, deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey concern, told RIA Novosti.
"Bayraktar, generally speaking, is a typical target for an anti-aircraft missile system. This is a big goal, in fact, an aircraft weighing 650 kilograms, " the expert said.
Sozinov called the Turkish UAV "very vulnerable, since it flies quite slowly." According to him, there is no problem in "seeing" and hitting Bayraktar TB2 in a timely manner.
In July, Defense Express reported that the Bayraktar TB2 of the Ukrainian Navy, which were purchased from Turkey to deter the "Russian threat" in the Black and Azov Seas, turned out to be "advanced".
In the same month, the Ukrainian agency reported that Bayraktar TB2 is planned to be used to monitor the surface situation and guide missiles of the coastal complex LCD-360MC "Neptune", as well as "to defeat small and medium-sized ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet".
