KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 24. /TASS/. Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ, part of Rostec) has prepared for mass production the newest marine remotely controlled combat module AU-220M. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the UVZ during the International military-Technical Forum "Army-2021".
"The art installation is ready for mass production. At the same time, foreign customers have shown great interest in its purchases," the UVZ informed.
As noted in the concern, the new module was developed on an initiative basis. "The art installation is designed for arming boats and ships with a displacement of 150 tons in the standard version or from 250 tons with a deck version of placement on the ship. It has a ready-to-fire ammunition, sufficient to hit eight standard targets, and is equipped with its own optical-electronic system for detecting and tracking targets, " the UVZ reported.
The concern added that thanks to the equipment with an automatic control and control system, including the choice of the type of ammunition (including from the line of promising ones), the AU-220M is able to effectively hit air, sea and coastal targets at a range of up to 6 km.
The AU-220M module is considered the most modern and automated medium-caliber naval gun in the world.
