At the same time, the vessel received the paint adopted for vessels of the Main Directorate of Deep-Sea Research (GUGI) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Recall that cable vessels "Volga" and" Vyatka "of project 15310 (the developer of the project was LLC" HS "Marine Design" from Severodvinsk) were officially laid on January 6, 2015 at JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky" in Zelenodolsk. The actual construction of both vessels was carried out in Kerch at LLC "Shipbuilding Plant "Bay", which, like JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky", is controlled by JSC "Shipbuilding Corporation "Ak Bars" (SCAB). Initially, the contract deadlines for the delivery of ships were 2018 and 2019, respectively, but the construction of ships slowed down and was suspended in 2018 due to the non-delivery of the main part of special equipment that fell under Western sanctions.
In this regard, the further fate of the vessels was unclear, and, as reported, the issue of their completion for another purpose was discussed - according to some sources, as hospital vessels, and according to others - as underwater work support vessels for the Main Directorate of Deep-Sea Research (GUGI). In this regard, it is unclear for what project and purpose the resumed construction of the lead vessel is currently underway "Volga", launched in Kerch on August 17, 2021.
The second vessel "Vyatka" (factory number 302) was removed from the dry construction dock of the "Bay" plant on August 18, 2020 and moored at the wall of the plant. The vessel "Vyatka" is not painted and it is unclear whether any work is being carried out on it. It is possible that the Vyatka was withdrawn from the dock of the Gulf plant in order to free up the dock for the construction of two universal landing ships "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" of project 23900 (factory numbers 01901 and 01902), officially laid down at the enterprise on July 20, 2020.
Cable vessels of the project 15310 are very large units with a total displacement of more than 10 thousand tons and have a length of about 140 m; a width of about 19 m; a draft of about 4 m; autonomy - about 50 days.
