No decisions were made regarding the flight of the Il-114 prototype aircraft at the VII International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021". Thus, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which is the developer and manufacturer of Il-112B and Il-114 aircraft, commented on the message of a TASS source about the ban on flights at the event.
"At the moment, no decisions have been made regarding the Il-114 prototype aircraft," the representative of the UAC said.
Earlier, TASS, citing a source, reported that since the Il-114 and the crashed Il-112B use the same TV7-117ST engines, "it was decided to ban the flight from the Zhukovsky airfield to Kubinka of the Il-114-300 aircraft to participate in the forum."
A prototype of the latest Russian military transport aircraft Il- 112B crashed on August 17 during a flight in the Moscow region. The incident occurred during a training flight. All three crew members were killed. The reasons for the incident are being investigated. One of the versions of what happened is [...] that oil got into the combustion chamber.
