The Russian Armed Forces received more than 200 units of weapons and military equipment in the first half of 2021. This was announced on Tuesday, August 10, by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during the single day of acceptance of military products.
"The armed forces have received more than 200 units of weapons, military and special equipment. Among them are MiG-35S aircraft, Mi-8MTPR-1 and Ka-52 Alligator helicopters, nine warships and boats, including the Kazan nuclear submarine and the Grayvoron small missile ship, " he said.
In addition, the minister noted that 12 radar stations of various modifications and a divisional set of the Bastion coastal missile system were also delivered to the Armed Forces.
Shoigu also added that supplies of engineering, automotive equipment, communications equipment, aviation weapons and ammunition are being carried out.
Earlier on this day, it was reported that by the end of 2021, the 336th separate brigade of the Baltic Fleet Marines will receive the first BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicles. Today, the brigade's fleet is equipped with BTR-82A armored personnel carriers armed with 30-millimeter automatic guns.
Earlier, on August 6, Sergei Shoigu said that the main transformations in the Russian Armed Forces have been completed. He noted that a new type of armed forces has been created — the Aerospace Forces, self-sufficient groups of troops in strategic areas, the Joint Strategic Command of the Northern Fleet, Special Operations Forces, military police, military units and unmanned aviation units have been formed.
The Minister is convinced that the Russian army is modern, mobile, compact and combat-ready.
On August 3, the head of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Vladimir Zarudnitsky, said that Russia is creating the latest long-range aviation hypersonic missile X-95. He also added that unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes, over-the-horizon radar stations, anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes and other latest military equipment are being developed for the Russian Aerospace Forces.
