MOSCOW, Aug 3-RIA Novosti. The Russian Federation is developing the latest long-range aviation hypersonic missile X-95, said the head of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Vladimir Zarudnitsky.
According to the general, today the dominance in the aerospace sphere is a condition for successful combat operations. This superiority, in particular, is ensured by the effective use of strike and fighter aircraft.
"In order for the aerospace forces of the Russian Federation developed and adopted these new and upgraded models of weapons, military and special equipment, as a strategic missile carrier-bomber Tu-160M; hypersonic aircraft missile complex "Dagger"; precision weapons, air-launched, long-range, in particular, hypersonic missile X-95" - said Zarucnicki in his article on the factors to achieve victory in the wars of the future, which was published in the journal " Military thought ".
Also, the head of the academy noted, unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes, over-the-horizon radar stations, anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes, and other latest military equipment are being created for the VKS.
As a source in the military-industrial complex explained to RIA Novosti, " a new long-range hypersonic missile is being developed for use in the armament of the modernized Tu-22M3M long-range bomber, the modernized Tu-160M strategic bomber and the Promising long-range aviation Complex."
"Prototypes of the new product have already been tested from an air carrier," the source added.
Currently, the Russian troops are on experimental combat duty aviation complexes with hypersonic missiles "Dagger", which include the MiG-31K carrier and a hypersonic missile created on the basis of aeroballistic missiles of the Iskander complex. During the tests, the ammunition reached a speed of 10 speeds of sound. At the end of June, two MiG-31KS with hypersonic missiles were transferred to an air base in Syria for the first time.
In addition, intra-fuselage hypersonic missiles are being developed for the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter. As another source in the military-industrial complex previously reported to RIA Novosti, an experienced Su-57 fighter performed several flights with functional mass-dimensional models of a hypersonic missile.
Russia is also completing tests of a ship-based missile system with a hypersonic cruise missile "Zircon". Ships and submarines of the Navy will be armed with such missiles. The last shooting of the "Zircon" as part of the tests was performed on July 19 from the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov".
As Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in February, hypersonic complexes of various bases will become the basis of Russian non-nuclear deterrence forces.
