A series of unique special exercises of engineering units has started at the military training grounds of Russia and the Republic of Belarus. They will be held at ten training grounds of the two countries, as well as on the Oka River section. The exercises were organized in preparation for the joint strategic Russian-Belarusian exercise "West-2021".
Special exercises have already begun in Russia, the press service of the Western Military District reported on Tuesday. At the training ground in Mulino, joint actions of engineering assault, motorized rifle units and airborne troops will be played to conduct combat operations in urban conditions, taking into account the experience in Syria. The robotic complexes "Uran-6" and "Uran-14"will be used. It is also planned to use a massive engineering system for remote mining.
In the Republic of Belarus, special exercises will be held at the Obuz-Lesnovsky and Brest training grounds. In total, 4.5 thousand military personnel and about 650 units of military equipment will be involved in the two countries, including the latest robotic complexes for mine clearance and fire extinguishing, as well as remote mining equipment, water extraction and purification installations.
