The Ministry of Transport of Russia has prepared a strategy for the development of the transport industry, which the agency plans to implement from 2021 to 2030. In particular, digital passenger profile systems will be created to pay for travel using biometrics and calculate the optimal travel route, and the use of unmanned vehicles will also be regulated.
According to the document, by 2024, commercial cargo delivery using drones should be launched in a pilot mode, and by 2030, unmanned cars and trucks, trains and ships should appear in the country, as well as the necessary infrastructure for their movement should be created.
At the same time, it is planned to develop a system for modeling traffic flows, which will be based on artificial intelligence technologies. The strategy also states that the transportation of goods from China to Europe through the territory of Russia will be carried out by drones.
The relevant technological standards and regulatory legal acts for unmanned aviation, sea and river transport should be developed by December 2023.
The Ministry of Transport plans to spend 336.4 million rubles on the implementation of the strategy, most of these funds (205 million rubles) will be spent on the introduction of drones. Other departments will also be involved in the implementation of the strategy: The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development, together with the Federal Tax Service, the FCS, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the FSS, the PF, as well as Rosstandart.
