Currently, the Air Force has four E-4Bs created on the basis of the long-haul double-deck wide-body passenger aircraft Boeing 747-200. The vehicles should become command posts for the top leadership of the United States in case the ground control systems are destroyed as a result of a nuclear war.
Earlier it was reported that [...] the creation of a new Doomsday aircraft based on the wide-body Il-96-400M has begun in Russia. The Russian Aerospace Forces will receive two such vehicles. Currently, according to open sources, Russia has four Il-80, created on the basis of the Il-86.
