VILYUCHINSK /Kamchatka Krai/, June 29. /TASS/. Specialists of the Military Construction Complex of the Russian Defense Ministry have begun the construction of a training center for divers of the Pacific Fleet. This was reported to journalists on Tuesday in the Russian military department.
"The object under construction is intended for training divers, units performing tasks to ensure the safety of the fleet forces and important state and military facilities. The new training complex is planned to be commissioned by the end of 2021, " the ministry noted.
The progress of the construction of a new facility in Kamchatka was inspected by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov as part of a working trip to the troops of the Eastern Military District.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the new training center will be equipped with a 25-meter pool with a depth of 5 m. The bowl of the structure will be made of reinforced concrete, and the bath will be made of stainless steel. The pool is equipped with four special diving ladders for the entire depth and underwater lighting. The project also provides for a diving post, a diving equipment workshop, rooms for desalting, washing and drying equipment, an office of a special physiologist, a diving training class and other premises.
To restore the physical condition of the divers, a stationary pressure chamber will be installed in the center, which will provide decompression and therapeutic recompression.
