Members of the crew of the only submarine of the Polish Navy criticized the command of the fleet and reported on the deplorable condition of the submarine. This is reported by the portal "Military Review" with reference to the Polish edition of Gazeta Wyborcza.

It is reported that the Polish sailors from the submarine ORP Orzeł sent an open letter to several local media outlets. The report was also received by Gazeta Wyborcza. The letter says that the sailors of the submarine are forced to apply in this form because they fear for their lives: "We are risking our lives in a senseless marketing campaign of the Polish government." It follows from the text that every trip to the sea can end in tragedy, as the Polish Navy is in the stage of partial decomposition, Orzeł is in a deplorable state and leaks.

The sailors say that during the recent maneuvers there was an incident, because of which the crew almost died: "The problems are related to the technical condition of the ballast tanks. It was only by a miracle that we managed to surface." The military wrote a message saying that even the communication system on the submarine does not work as it should: "In general, it is strange that the boat in this state goes to sea."

"We do not want to share the fate of the crew of the Kursk submarine, as well as the fate of the Argentine submarine San Juan or the Indonesian Nanggala-402," the signatories said. They noticed that they were ready to give their lives for the country, but not because of " incompetence and the whims of the authorities."

In their problems, the sailors blame the command and the authorities of Poland and note that their actions "led to a situation in which the lives of submariners are in danger." It is noted that the letter was sent to the media without the consent of the command.

ORP Orzeł is a submarine belonging to Project 877E. She was built at the Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) and commissioned in April 1986.

At the end of April , it became known that the only submarine in service with the Polish Navy, the Orzeł, stopped firing due to problems with the torpedo tubes. All six of the submarine's 533-millimeter torpedo tubes failed because they had not been used for a long time.
