The F-15EX Eagle II fighter of the US Air Force, considered an analogue of the Russian Su-57, received probably the most powerful radar in the world for this type of aircraft, reports The Drive, referring to the developer of the radar station Michelle Stychinsky from Raytheon.
In an interview with the publication, the expert noted that the AN/APG-82 radar with an active phased array antenna (AFAR) from its predecessor, the APG-82, is distinguished, in particular, by enhanced capabilities to counter threats posed by air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles, a smaller number of mobile elements, increased reliability and ease of maintenance.
"The APG-82 is the most powerful radar, and there is nothing that can compare with it," says Styczynski.
In April, the U.S. Air Force officially named the F-15EX Advanced Eagle fighter, the F — 15EX Eagle II, during a ceremony held at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
In February [...], the F-15EX Advanced Eagle fighter jet, which is considered the most advanced version of the F-15 Eagle, took off for the first time. The aircraft can become the most armed fighter in the world and will complement the F-35 Lightning II in particularly difficult missions.
