TSAMTO, April 12. Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu on April 9, during an inspection of the state defense order of JSC "766 Department of Production and Technological Equipment" (UPTK) in the Moscow region, instructed to increase radiation protection for Russian military robots.
The head of the military department drew attention to the need to work on the modernization of robotic systems in terms of the stability of their use in the conditions of exposure to hard electromagnetic radiation, as well as in the conditions of radiation contamination. In particular, we are talking about the radiation resistance of protected communication channels between the control point and robotic complexes.
The Russian army is currently supplied with the Uranus line of robots – the Uranus-6 mine-clearing robot, the Uranus-14 fire-fighting robot and the Uranus-9 strike robot.
One strike complex "Uran-9" includes a control center based on a KAMAZ vehicle and four fire vehicles armed with a 30-mm cannon and anti-tank missiles, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry.
