The withdrawal from the dry construction dock of the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard of the main Chinese universal landing ship (UDC) project 075, which has been under construction since 2016, was carried out on September 26, 2019 after an official ceremony held a day earlier. The lead Chinese UDC entered factory sea trials from Shanghai on August 5, 2020. The ship's entry into the PLA Navy is likely to take place in 2021.

The withdrawal of the second Chinese UDC project 075 under construction from the dry construction dock of the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard was carried out on April 22, 2020. The second UDC entered factory sea trials from Shanghai on December 22, 2020 (now, after completing the first stage of testing, this ship is also located at the completion wall of the shipyard). The names of all the ships have not yet been announced.

The Chinese UDC project 075 under construction is a large unit, comparable in size in its class to the UDC of the US Navy. The length of the UDC project 075 is, according to various sources, from 235 to 250 m, and the total displacement, according to unofficial Chinese sources, is about 36 thousand tons. American UDC types Tarawa, Wasp and America have a length of 254-257 m and a total displacement of 40 to 46 thousand tons. Launched in 2019, the Italian UDC Trieste has a length of 245 m and a total displacement of 33 thousand tons.
