As reported on September 5, 2025, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec State Corporation), the first import-substituted regional passenger aircraft SJ-100 with serial number 97004 (registration number 97024), built using serial technologies in the Production Center of the Branch, made its maiden flight from the factory airfield in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.Regional Aircraft" (FRS) of PJSC Yakovlev (part of the UAC of Rostec State Corporation). The machine is equipped with Russian systems and assemblies, including PD-8 engines manufactured by UEC.

The first flight lasted about an hour. The aircraft was piloted by the crew of the FRS Flight Test Complex, consisting of test pilots Dmitry Savonin, Leonid Chikunov and the lead flight test engineer, flight operator Vladislav Tyurin.
"The first aircraft built using serial technologies took off. The certification process is still underway, but the aircraft has been mass-produced, in the target form that is planned for delivery. Recall that the car received an updated, improved fuselage and dozens of new systems and assemblies instead of foreign ones. Currently, 24 production vehicles are already in production in varying degrees of readiness. This confirms that Russia has been and remains an aircraft manufacturing power capable of creating modern aircraft both in international cooperation and without the participation of foreign partners," commented Rostec.
Earlier, the aircraft's developer, the Regional Aircraft Branch of Yakovlev PJSC, together with the Aviation Authorities and the Federal Air Transport Agency, carried out work on certification of the modified SJ-100 import-substituted airframe and its manufacturing technologies.
"Obtaining approval of the Main change to the type certificate in terms of the updated design allowed the production of the SJ-100 airframe already according to serial design documentation. Modification of the airframe was required for the installation of Russian systems and assemblies, as well as to simplify the production process and maintenance of the aircraft," said Kirill Kuznetsov, Chief designer of the SJ-100.
"For us, the import substitution program is not only a new modification of the aircraft in the production line, but also a serious technical upgrade to Russian equipment. For example, we are already docking new Russian-made machines at a new, fully domestic docking stand," said Andrey Soinov, Director of the Production Center of the Regional Aircraft Branch of Yakovlev PJSC.
The SJ-100 has created a reserve for the manufacture of production aircraft, the delivery of which will be possible after the completion of certification tests and approval of their results by the Federal Air Transport Agency.
"The SJ-100 aircraft import substitution program is entering the stage of mass production launch. The program team, which includes more than 140 first-level suppliers, worked hard to ensure that the first machine built using serial technologies took to the skies," said Alexander Dolotovsky, Director of the Regional Aircraft Branch of Yakovlev PJSC.
The SJ-100 is a short-range, narrow-body aircraft with a capacity of 100 passengers. As part of the import substitution work, the vehicle is equipped with Russian engines, avionics, landing gear, auxiliary power plant, control systems, power supply, air conditioning, fire protection, and passenger cabin interior.
On the part of bmpd, we recall that the goal of the SSJ-NEW program launched in 2019 is to create a modification of the SJ-100 aircraft with maximum use of Russian-made equipment. As part of this program, the Superjet 100 aircraft with factory number 95157 (serial number 157, registration number 97012), built in 2018, was converted into an OP-2 prototype with Russian PD-8 engines. html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">the first flight in a new guise in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on March 17, 2025, and prototypes of the OP-1 (001, serial number 97001, registration number 97021) with Russian-French engines were built by the Yakovlev Production Center of UAC. SaM146, which made its maiden flight on August 29, 2023, and the prototype OP-3 (003, serial number 97003, registration number 97023) with Russian PD-8 engines, which made its maiden flight on April 22, 2025.
The first import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft with serial number 97004 (registration number 97024), which took off on September 5, 2025, became the 230th flight aircraft of the SuperJet SSJ100 family built since 2008, and the second built in 2025.
