The latest Hyacinth-K and Malva self-propelled artillery systems, as well as Geranium-2 and Lancets UAVs, were seen at the rehearsals
On the anniversary Victory Day parade on May 9, the participants of the SVO will march along Red Square. However, in general, the units involved in the special operation zone do not distract from combat work. Military experts believe that in 2025, new models of Russian weapons and equipment can be demonstrated to the public in Moscow. Earlier, Hyacinth-K and Malva self-propelled artillery installations, as well as Geran-2 UAVs and Lancet barrage ammunition were seen at the rehearsals of the parade. Most likely, the solemn review will not be complete without the strategic Yars and tactical Iskander missile systems. Well, in its historical part, the legendary T-34-85 tanks and Su-100 self-propelled guns, which 80 years ago participated in the defeat of the fascist troops, may well appear.
Artillery accent
In 2025, unlike the last Victory Day Parade in Moscow, new models of domestic military equipment and promising combat vehicles that have not yet been put into service may well be presented. Some Muscovites and guests of the capital could already see them at the rehearsals of the ceremony, which took place in late April and early May.
On Victory Day, participants of a special military operation, regiments, battalions and companies by type and type of troops, calculations of Suvorov, Nakhimov and cadet schools, yunarmeyts, female servicemen, Cossacks and a combined military band will march in parade formation along Red Square.
Next, military equipment will appear on the main square of the country. The column will traditionally be led by the legendary "Victory Tank" — T-34-85. This time he can be paired with the Su-100 self-propelled gun, which began production in 1944. They will be followed by Tiger, MIC-Ural armored vehicles and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.

Judging by the rehearsal, the 152-mm Malva artillery complex on the chassis of a Voschina all-wheel drive vehicle manufactured by the Bryansk Automobile Plant may also pass through Red Square on a holiday. It was first presented at the Army 2020 forum in an exhibition area closed to the public, and the first production models of the complex entered service with the Russian army at the end of 2023.
An important feature of Malva is its high mobility.
"Thanks to the wheeled chassis, the howitzer is able to quickly deploy to a position and leave it, avoiding return fire, which is very important in a counter—battery battle," the deputy commander of the Dnepr motorized rifle division with the call sign Khaper told Izvestia. — It is capable of firing in the "one—gun fire raid" mode - when the howitzer releases several rounds of ammunition in different trajectories, but they reach the target simultaneously, without giving the enemy time to take cover.

The Malva 152 mm cannon, as the officer notes, has repeatedly confirmed its effectiveness in the special operation zone.
— Paired with artillery reconnaissance complexes, it effectively destroys the artillery installations of the Ukrainian nationalists. In addition, it can fire up to eight rounds per minute. That is, eight shells were fired, and the installation calculation had already changed its location at that time. The ammunition of such a Mallow includes 30 rounds," the officer noted.
Another new wheeled gun, the 2C44 Hyacinth—K, participated in the rehearsals. It is also based on the highly advanced chassis of the Bryansk Automobile Plant. The new Russian self-propelled gun was first shown in December 2024, and the details of the project were revealed in February this year.

"Malva" and "Hyacinth" are the most modern wheeled self—propelled artillery installations, Dmitry Kornev, editor of the Militaryrussia portal, told Izvestia.
"The Hyacinth—K wheeled vehicle can be mass-produced," he noted. — Such installations are more mobile than tracked ones, more practical in operation, and all this together increases the effectiveness of artillery units of the Russian Armed Forces.
The color of the "Geranium"
During the rehearsals, UAVs "Orlan", "Geran-2" and barrage ammunition "Lancet" were seen. They have not been shown at parades in Moscow before. The organizers may choose these drones due to the fact that they have already shown great effectiveness in their combat zone, both on the line of contact and behind enemy lines, military expert Viktor Litovkin told Izvestia.
"It is the Geraniums that have recently caused significant damage to the Ukrainian military infrastructure, disrupting the work of its warehouses and factories where military equipment is produced," he explained. "The Orlan UAV is a very effective reconnaissance aircraft that, in conjunction with artillery and missile forces, allows you to determine the coordinates of enemy combat positions or facilities. The Lancet is a kamikaze drone, they are used in large numbers in the military training area, and they are all Russian—made.

The Kurganets infantry fighting vehicle and the Boomerang armored personnel carrier, which were also presented at the parade rehearsal, are already well—known vehicles. Although they are still being tested and have not yet been fully adopted, Viktor Litovkin said.
"They are currently being supplied to the troops in small batches," he noted. — The Kurgan's combat module can be changed. This is one of the achievements of our design thinking — the chassis remains unchanged, and the turret can be varied depending on what kind of car is needed today. In particular, it is possible to supply both a 57-mm and a 30-mm cannon. In the future, Kurgans and Boomerangs will replace all our infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers. These are machines designed for the future.
In addition, the Tosochka heavy flamethrower system, the Iskander tactical missile system, the S-400 air defense system and, of course, the Yars strategic missile system, which is the basis of Russia's nuclear shield, will most likely be seen at the parade.

80 days before Victory Day, unique video content from the Great Victory virtual museum created by Izvestia appeared on the MAER media facades. Since February 19, residents of major Russian cities can see thematic materials dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War on big screens. Every day, photos of war veterans and quotes from their stories appear on media facades, as well as 3D models of legendary weapons symbolizing the might and strength of the Soviet Army. The digital project also includes a story about important dates and events that brought the Great Victory closer.
On the eve of Victory Day, Izvestia has prepared a special project "Two Worlds. One War", dedicated to the history of the confrontation between the USSR and Germany from the mid-30s to the mid-40s of the last century.
