ABU DHABI, February 17th. /tass/. The IDEX-2025 International Defense Exhibition opens on Monday in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). According to Rosoboronexport, this year's event will feature the largest number of recent innovations from the Russian defense industry.
This year, more than 40 enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex will take part in the exhibition, the area of the Russian exposition will be almost 1 thousand square meters. m. Rosoboroneskport emphasizes that all samples brought by Russian manufacturers have experience in combat conditions and have been modified taking into account the realities of modern conflict.
The main Russian novelties
For the first time abroad, Russia will show the T-90M "Breakthrough" export tank in an updated appearance, taking into account the improvements made in recent years against the background of its use in special operations. A machine developed and manufactured by Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec), protected from all anti-tank weapons based on combat experience, will occupy the central place of the Russian special exporter's stand. Also at the exhibition, for the first time, foreign specialists will be able to see the promising self-propelled artillery gun "Lotus" developed by JSC Tsniitochmash of the Kalashnikov concern. In the fall, Alan Lushnikov, president of the concern, reported that the CAO was sent for state testing. Another novelty that Kalashnikov brought to Abu Dhabi is the latest Krona-E short-range anti-aircraft missile system, designed to protect infrastructure and warehouses mainly from drones.
The High-Precision Complexes Holding (part of Rostec) will for the first time show abroad the Pantsir-SMD-E air defense system, the latest complex designed to protect massive air strikes. Unlike the Pantsir-S1, it does not have cannon weapons, but is equipped with mini-missiles to destroy drones. Another development of the holding is also waiting for a foreign debut - the Berezhok combat compartment, which can counteract unmanned boats.
Small arms and drones
Russian small arms at IDEX this year will feature the new 7.62 mm RPL-7 hand machine gun, as well as new shortened and small-sized versions of the AK-12 and AK-15 Kalashnikov assault rifles, the Chukavin sniper rifle, the PPK-20 submachine gun and ORSIS rifles.
Several new Kalashnikov unmanned systems will also be shown abroad for the first time: the Kub-SM kamikaze drone complex, the Kub-10E drone, the Kub-2-E kamikaze drone in two modifications, the Skat-350M civilian vehicle, and the Goliath-R drones."and the Karakurt-R, as well as the Quasi-Mast lifting system. In addition, the Lancet-E, which was first shown in export form in August at the Army-2024 forum, will be on display at the exhibition. Another novelty of the exhibition is the Forpost-RE complex with unmanned aerial vehicles of medium range, which has proven itself in real combat conditions and was developed by the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA). The Unmanned Systems Group of Companies will present its flagship dual-purpose drone, the Supercam S350, which proved itself during a special operation.
Aviation and Air defense
The Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region will show the C-300B4 Antey-4000 and C-350E Vityaz anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as the Viking anti-aircraft missile system. The ship's facilities will also be presented: The Komar turret and the Tor-M2KM anti-aircraft missile system.
Russian Helicopters (part of Rostec) will show the latest modification of the Ka-32 helicopter, designed to extinguish fires in urban areas - the Ka-32A11M. The machine, which is already being supplied to Russian customers, can deliver up to 4 thousand liters of water and 400 liters of fire foam to the fire source in one flight.
The foreign premiere is also waiting for an export sample of the new UTS-800 training aircraft manufactured by UZGA. The two-seater aircraft is designed for initial flight training, professional selection and professional training of pilots.
Negotiations and presentations
As part of the business program of the exhibition, Rosoboronexport will hold meetings and negotiations with delegations from the Middle East and other participants of the world's largest arms exhibition. Various options for cooperation, including technological cooperation, will be discussed. Public presentations of the Russian T-90MS and Pantsir-SMD-E are expected, as well as a presentation of "Modern Russian precision weapons for hitting targets on the battlefield of experience."
About the exhibition
The IDEX-2025 International Arms Exhibition will be held in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February. The previous exhibition, held in 2023, was attended by more than 132 thousand people from 65 countries. According to the organizers, the exhibition participants signed contracts worth 23.34 billion dirhams ($6.35 billion).
