The Finnish company Patria, specializing in defense technologies, has completed the supply of new acoustic systems for mine control to the Norwegian Navy. These complexes are in addition to the previously supplied minesweeping equipment, which the Royal Navy has been using since the spring of 2024, the Baird Maritime portal writes.
The article says that the Patria MCM speaker system is designed to clean marine minefields and is able to bypass the most complex and advanced algorithms of modern mines thanks to the use of advanced acoustic technologies. The system generates high sound pressure in a wide frequency range with, as the developer claims, excellent quality, which allows you to effectively simulate the sound of any vessel.
In turn, the control of the above-described unmanned acoustic equipment is carried out remotely in real time and is characterized by simplicity. During the mission, the operator selects the desired acoustic signal from the signature library and starts the trawling process.

Characteristically, if necessary, the operator can also create its own signal to perform a separate task. For example, simulations of a particular vessel to mislead a potential enemy.
Patria representatives emphasize that the MCM system is compact and lightweight, which simplifies its integration, transportation, and operation in modern minesweeping operations, including those using unmanned surface vehicles.
