Ministry of Defense: Air defense forces shot down 104 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over nine regions of Russia overnight
At night, 104 Ukrainian drones attacked Russian regions. The governor of the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, said that the purpose of the drones was a nuclear power facility. Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region claim that after the UAV attack, a local oil refinery caught fire, and an oil pumping station in the Tver region. The airports of Kazan and St. Petersburg temporarily restricted their operations.

According to the agency, 47 UAVs were shot down in the Kursk region. 27 drones were eliminated in the Bryansk Region, 11 in the Smolensk Region, 7 in the Tver Region, and 4 in the Belgorod Region. Three drones were shot down over the Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga regions, and one each over the Rostov and Leningrad regions. However, some heads of the attacked regions mention a greater number of destroyed drones.
A nuclear facility has been attacked
The governor of the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, said that at night the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked civilian facilities in the region. According to him, one of the drones tried to attack a nuclear power facility, and it was shot down.
"There are no casualties or damage. Stay calm and avoid open spaces," Anokhin added.
The governor asked residents of the region not to approach the windows and not to remove the work of air defense, as well as not to approach the wreckage of drones. Anokhin did not specify which nuclear power facility they were trying to attack. The Smolensk NPP is located in the south of the Smolensk region, near Desnogorsk. It is the largest energy company in the region, which provides about 90% of its electricity production. The press service of the station reported that the company is operating normally.
The attack on the oil refinery
The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, said that the wreckage of one of the drones fell on the territory of the Kstovskaya industrial zone, where a fire broke out. Firefighters are currently extinguishing the fire, there are no casualties.
According to SHOT, the drones were targeting a local oil refinery. Local residents told the Telegram channel that they heard the sound of drones flying, followed by several explosions. Footage from the scene shows a massive fire that appears to have completely engulfed the building. There was no official information about this.
The government of the Tver region, citing Governor Igor Rudenya, said that 29 drones were attacked at night in the Toropetsky and Andreapolsky districts (the Ministry of Defense reported seven downed UAVs. - "Gazeta.Ru").
"According to preliminary data, there are no injured citizens or damage as a result of the UAV attack. Operational services are working on site. The situation is under the control of the head of the region," the message says.
SHOT writes that the target of the drones was the Transneft-Baltika oil pumping station. According to the channel, at about 01:00, six UAVs were destroyed on approach to the facility, but the debris fell into the station, which caused a fire. It took several hours for the fire department to extinguish the fire.
The situation in other regions
Air defense systems destroyed a Ukrainian drone over Lake Ladoga, near the coast in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region, said the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko. According to him, there was no damage or casualties.
The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, announced the interception of 26 drones, including three jet ones, over the territory of the region. Subsequently, he clarified that a total of 33 drones were shot down: 27 of them were destroyed by the air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense, and six more by a special unit of the regional directorate of the Russian Guard. According to the governor, there are no casualties.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the head of the Belgorod Region, said that two drones had been shot down over Belgorod over the past day, without any consequences. Another 16 UAVs attacked the villages of Dubovoye, Malinovka, Oktyabrsky and Razumnoye, the villages of Blizhne, Nikolskoye, Repnoye, Cheremoshnoye, Shchetinovka and Yasnye Zori, 14 of them were shot down by air defense systems. As a result of the attack, one private house was damaged. One drone attacked Zarechnoye, there were no casualties or damage. Four UAVs were shot down over the Valuysky municipal district, there were no consequences. The city of Grayvoron, the village of Gorkovsky, the villages of Bezymeno, Kozinka and Novostroevka were the first to be attacked by 13 drones.
In Grayvorona, a drone targeted an apartment building, two residents were injured there. One of them needed emergency surgery due to a penetrating chest injury. The second victim suffered a mine explosion injury and a shrapnel wound to her shoulder. As a result of the attack, including shelling and drones, ten apartments in three multi-storey buildings, a social facility, 17 cars and a private house were damaged.
The village of Prilesye, the villages of Grafovka, Demidovka and Kolotilovka were attacked by four UAVs. There, taking into account the shelling and drones, a social facility, a power line and one private house were damaged. Two drones were shot down over the Prokhorovsky district. The city of Shebekino, the villages of Voznesenovka, Murom, Novaya Tavolzhanka and Pankov farm were attacked by 18 drones, 16 of them were eliminated, there are no consequences.
The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, said that at night air defense systems destroyed one Ukrainian drone in the territory of the Kozelsky district, there were no casualties or damage.
The acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, said that one drone was suppressed in the Myasnikovsky district, it fell outside the settlements - there were also no casualties and destruction on the ground.
At night, the Federal Air Transport Agency restricted the operation of the airports of Kazan and St. Petersburg, for some time they did not send or receive flights. Three planes flying to Kazan had to land at alternate airfields, SHOT found out.
