According to the US military, China is building a global military and investing in capabilities that will allow it to project power far beyond the first island chain. In the near future, the PLA will have the ability to deliver long-range precision strikes from land, sea and air platforms. At the same time, it is indicated that Beijing, according to American analysts, probably considers the territory of Burma, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Cuba, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and many other countries as locations for military logistics facilities of the PLA.
At the same time, the Pentagon is convinced that China's military modernization is still focused on Taiwan. The report notes that the Chinese leadership considers unification with Taiwan as a fundamental condition for national revival. However, the PLA is not yet ready for large-scale ground combat operations at the level of the Russian Armed Forces.
