The reflection of simulated drone attacks by a British frigate is shown

Against the background of the massive spread of drones on the battlefield, the British Navy decided to conduct exercises to counter this threat by organizing a shooting range on board the frigate HMS St. Albans. The corresponding frames are shown online.

The ship demonstrated its ability to withstand aerial threats during the complex Sharpshooter ["Sniper"] exercises, repelling more than 100 simulated drone attacks off the coast of Wales

As indicated in the UK Defense Journal, practicing the skills of hitting drones with small arms fire was the first case in the history of the British Navy's training practice. According to the author, the change in approach was influenced by the conclusions drawn from "recent incidents in the Red Sea."

Both air and surface vehicles were involved in the exercises, which carried out more than a hundred attacks. The crew fired at them with pistols, automatic rifles and machine guns, including large-caliber Brownings.50 and multi-barrel Minigun.

These drones, small and fast, with a maximum speed of 200 knots, flew low over the waves to simulate complex attack profiles. HMS St Albans accurately reflected these threats using small arms and medium caliber
