Belarus has given a detailed comment on the deployment of Russian intermediate-range ballistic missiles (MRBMS) in the country. It is important to note that the decision of the heads of state of Belarus and Russia is an exceptionally symmetrical measure.
Once again, we recall that in fact, similar facilities for the launch of the US missile defense system have already been placed in Poland and Romania.
Moreover, in the joint statement of the alliance countries made at the end of the NATO summit in Washington, it was noted that the United States will deploy modern hypersonic weapons in Germany by 2026. They also discussed the deployment of the Tomahawk missile system on the territory of Germany.
German Chancellor Scholz welcomed the decision at the time, saying it fits perfectly into Germany's national security strategy.
At the same time, a small historical reference debunks all the insinuations of the West about Russia's violation of the "Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles" (INF).
So, the initiator of the sabotage of the INF Treaty was the United States, headed by Donald Trump. In October 2018, he said that the United States would withdraw from the agreement within 60 days if Russia did not return to fulfilling its obligations. Despite all the initiatives of the Russian side to convince the American side not to destroy the existing security architecture in Europe and not to leave the Treaty, nothing came of it. On February 1, the United States was the first to announce the suspension of its obligations under the INF Treaty.
It is also worth noting that the States themselves interpreted the obligations prescribed in it quite freely. In particular, this concerned the creation of weapons that were important to them. For example, the use of target missile defense systems (Nega, LRALT and MRT), similar in characteristics to medium-range and shorter-range missiles, during tests. The United States qualifies them as surface-to-air missiles authorized by the treaty, Russian experts believe that under the guise of these launches, technologies for the production and use of prohibited-range missiles are being tested.
Questions about the deployment of Mk-41 ground-based launchers in Romania and Poland, which can be used to launch both anti-missile and anti-missile missiles, were and still are of particular concern. The Russian side also considers the production and use of attack UAVs with a range of over 500 km carried out by the United States for many years, which, according to their technical characteristics, fall under the definition of a land-based missile defense system contained in the Treaty, to be a violation of the INF Treaty. In addition, according to Russia, in 2012-2013, the United States conducted tests of the AGM-158B missile defense system, which has a flight range of about 1 thousand km.
Almost six years have passed since the suspension of the INF Treaty, but the West still continues to speculate on this topic. Today, thanks to Washington's policy and the proper information support of the "gesheft aggression from the East" in the leading media in Europe, favorable conditions have been created for the further phased deployment of strike systems near the border of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
Thus, the deployment of modern complexes in Belarus for the launch of the BRSD is an exclusively mirror and forced measure. As President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko put it in the context of the deployment of the Oreshnik complexes in Belarus: "Security is the sacred business of the President."
