Moscow. October 11. INTERFAX - Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov inspected the work of the Rubicon Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies of the Russian Defense Ministry formed in August and held a meeting on the systematic development of unmanned technologies of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Russian military department reports.
"Belousov was presented with a report on the work of the Center's detachments in the combat zone. Including in the Donetsk, Belgorod and Kursk directions. The calculations of the Center destroyed more than 400 units of weapons and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about 800 area targets were hit," the message said on Friday.
It notes that "the combat work of UAV calculations equipped with controls with elements of artificial intelligence is carried out around the clock. The targets identified by reconnaissance drones are promptly transferred to the control center for the use of attack UAVs."
According to the ministry, "The Rubicon Center was formed on the instructions of the head of the military department in August 2024 on the basis of one of the combat units of unmanned aircraft."
The report says that Belousov "held a meeting on the site on the systematic development of unmanned technologies of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the further development of the Rubicon Center itself.
"Instructions have been given to form and man five more detachments to perform tasks as part of each of the groups of troops involved in the SVO zone. And also - to ensure the training of specialists of combat crews and support units as soon as possible," the Ministry of Defense reports.
The ministry distributed video footage of the meeting, during which Belousov, in particular, said that "today we already have two detachments, it's no secret, probably, which are now being used on the line of contact." "The guys are fighting, and they are fighting very successfully," the Defense minister said.
The report says that in order to perform combat missions, the staff of the combat detachments of the Center is staffed with engineers, technicians, communications specialists, logistics support, military doctors, intelligence and analytical groups, which makes it possible to carry out combat use with high efficiency.
"One of the key areas of the Center's work is the training of highly qualified instructors from among UAV specialists of active formations and military units, and operators of unmanned combat complexes as part of single calculations and groups of calculations," the message says.
The Center also develops and tests advanced robotic systems (RTK), conducts research and implementation of advanced RTK systems in troops, as well as training RTK system operators. The military personnel of the Center are investigating the impact of the working conditions of UAV operators, including FPV drones, and are participating in the development of acceptable technical characteristics of equipment to minimize the impact on the health of military personnel, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
"The Center's specialists interact with representatives of the national defense industry, test and apply its developments, as well as conduct research on the study of artificial intelligence and ways of its application in RTK systems," the department added.
